Premium Monstera and Philodendron Houseplant Soil

Ingredients: Coco coir (inoculated with microbial tea), coco chips, worm castings, fine & coarse orchid bark chippings, zeolite, coarse perlite and pumice, insect frass, volcanic rock dust and horticultural charcoal.

Suitable for a wide variety of tropical house plants including: Monstera / Philodendron and other plants with large root systems that like a light potting mix with large air pockets.

This 100% organic, natural and peat free houseplant soil mix provides everything your plant needs to thrive. Suited to monstera and philodendron houseplants and containing everything a plant needs.

With a base ingredient of coco coir which makes up the base ingredient for all our mixes, it is a neutral, sustainable alternative to peat. Unlike most other available soils, all our coco coir is treated with a microbial tea containing over 20 different beneficial bacteria, fungi, enzymes, and natural plant growth stimulants. This is vital to a healthy soil system allowing a healthier plant and a better nutrient take up from the root system.

Fine and coarse grade premium orchid bark chippings are added to further create the ideal habitat for the larger root systems of your monstera and philodendrons with something extra to anchor onto and the large air pockets the plants require.

Coarse grade perlite is added which is lightweight, porous and helps drainage and create important air pockets needed for a healthy root system.

Coco chips are added which are large chunks of the coco husk which retain moisture and nutrients, make it a chunkier mix and aerate the soil further.

Coarse pumice is added and is ideal for adding further air pockets for large roots to move into and improving the general structure of the soil.

Worm Castings are added for a natural, organic live ecosystem and fertiliser. Containing macro and micro nutrients as well as beneficial microbes, bacteria and fungi as well as the occasional beneficial worm.

Zeolite is added for its water/nutrient retention and exchange qualities, aeration, drainage and ability to remove harmful toxins from the soil.

Insect frass contains a well balanced supply of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium as well as promoting a healthy bacterial balance as well as properties which boost the plants natural ability to protect itself against bacterial and fungal diseases. 

Volcanic rock dust is added and contains important trace elements and minerals often missing from other soils.

Finally horticultural charcoal is then added which contains, stores and releases nutrients as well as improving the general structure of the soil.
